I'd be interested in seeing a video on the English and/or Reti openings.  In general there are fewer videos available on these openings and it seems to me a discussion of transpositions and strategic plans might lend itself well to a video.  GM Williams could also explore the angle of how to spice up the play at the right point (as he is so talented at doing!)  Of course, Tony (as our resident English guru) may have some specific ideas!  Wink

Thumbs up for the video, although I have Simon's Dutch Defence videos this was still very enjoyable and I'd like to see more.

Will subscribers be able to download the pgn from the video?

Yes! Simon just sent it to me, and I've attached it here. Smiley

I suggest the very topical 12 a4 in the benko accepted:

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 c5 3. d5 b5 4. cxb5 a6 5. bxa6 g6 6. Nc3 Bxa6 7. Nf3 d6 8. e4 Bxf1 9. Kxf1 Bg7 10. g3 Nbd7 11. Kg2 O-O 12. a4

I like this idea. I might also suggest the 12.Kb1 Yugoslav Attack.

Thanks for the info Tony, I'll try one of the browsers you suggest.

What about the other authors, will they be contributing videos as well?

No, I don't think so, or at least this wasn't intended.

I just noticed that when I try to access the video I see the following error message:

Your browser does not support the video tag.

I'm Using ie8 on Win XP, work-around suggestions welcome.

Yes, MSIE8 is too old for HTML5 I think, and you might have problems with Firefox, which doesn't like MP4. A newer version of MSIE (which wouldn't work on Win XP, of course), or Chrome or Safari, etc., would be best.

GM Simon Williams is doing a new series of videos for ChessPublishing (Video of the month, see the Home page). The first one is on the Classical Dutch (which is well timed as Glenn just covered two of Simon's recent games on his last DD update), and is well worth watching!
The interesting thing about the subsequent videos is that it will be the Forum members who will choose the subject. Wink
Make your suggestions now!

Simon does seem to enjoy the Video medium. What about the other authors, will they be contributing videos as well?

Regards,

Toppy

I'd love to hear Simon's comments about all of the analysis contained within the most recent Classical Dutch thread in the forums!

I thought he did mention the Forum analysis on the video? Roll Eyes

He did for sure.  It wasn't exhaustive but he picked what he thought was worthy of attention.  I thought he did a nice job.

Very much agree. Speaks clearly, explains very well. This is a valuable addition to the site. More please!

My suggestion: Slav: Tolush-Geller Gambit.

I misread the original post in haste and thought the video was yet to be produced. Watching now, and my apologies!
